Ford has revived the Taurus as more of a personal luxury sedan, the likes of which have not been seen wearing a Ford badge in many years. Ford has decided to combine elements of American and European design for the 2010 model. The new redesigned Taurus is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 Duratec engine, mated to one of two available six-speed automatic transmissions, including SelectShift with shift paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The all-wheel-drive mode is optional. The V6 motor powers out an estimated 263 horsepower and 249 foot-pounds of torque. The regular car is offered in SE and SEL trim levels. Ford also will launch the performance-oriented SHO EcoBoost model.

Like the 1986 original, the new 2010 Taurus differentiates by combining style and substance, but this time in an advanced fusion of design, technology, and performance. Taurus features a long list of high-tech features, including: Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, MyKey parental programmability, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, Rain-Sensing Wipers, EasyFuel capless refueling, Ford SYNC and Voice-Activated Navigation with SIRIUS Travel Link.

In addition, Ford will again offer the Ford Music Video Challenge, a unique consumer promotion that offers fans an exclusive chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime American Idol experience.

An interactive promotion, the Ford Music Video Challenge started on Thursday, February 26, and will end on May 8. Fans can log on to www.americanidol.com/ford/challenge weekly to watch the music videos and enter for a chance to win weekly prizes including a trip for 2 to the Ford Music Video set, a pair of tickets to the Tuesday night show and 1 of 8 limited edition American Idol Fusions.
