The Ford F-150 - Harley Davidson Edition

The 2010 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 delivers a new standard of "custom cool," combining the smooth handling and legendary durability of America's best-selling truck with the authentic styling of Harley-Davidson, the industry leader in motorcycles.

This marks the 14th Harley-Davidson edition of an F-Series truck and latest in a line of Ford Harley-Davidson F-Series models dating back to 2000, which aim to appeal to customers who appreciate quality and unique details only this kind of collaboration can bring. The 2010 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 is the first Harley-Davidson edition vehicle built off the award-winning new 2009 Ford F-150.

"This truck builds on the legacy of toughness that's been the hallmark of the Ford F-Series brand," said Matt O'Leary, chief engineer. "Now we're giving customers more of everything they love with the best F-150 and the boldest Harley-Davidson F-150 ever - featuring a fully differentiated design, all-wheel-drive capability, 22-inch wheels and a knockout interior."

The exterior of the 2010 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 offers a bold front fascia and six-bar shaped billet-style grille, and boasts specialized forged-aluminum and Harley-Davidson chrome badging. The truck will have a lowered appearance because of its fully integrated deployable running boards.

Also featured are 22-inch, low-profile performance tires and Euroflange-forged wheels, each with a polished and painted center wheel cap. The paint selection is classic Harley-Davidson - Tuxedo Black and the first Ford application of Lava, a deep maroon with three-color metal flake. The interior is customized to appeal to the truck buyer who appreciates the attention to detail for which both Ford and Harley-Davidson are renowned. Also impressive are the seats and console lid, which features handmade cloisonne badges; the console has a limited-edition serial plate.

Linkage is apparent even in the smallest details, such as adornments on the seats.
"The theme of the seat was designed to resemble a Harley biker jacket," Schiavone said. "We even used authentic materials you'd find on Harley-Davidson MotorClothes brand apparel."
The seat backs feature ribbed leather treatments, engraved Harley-Davidson button snaps and even zippered map pockets featuring zippers from Harley jackets.

On the new F-150, there's a wealth of content complementing its unique appearance. The 2010 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 is equipped with a 5.4-liter three-valve engine, which is rated up to 320 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a sport-tuned exhaust. Top speed is 115 mph. The truck will be available with 4x2 or an optional all-wheel drive, which features settings of 4x2, AWD and 4x4 high, unique to the Harley-Davidson edition on the F-150 platform. All 2010 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 models will be SuperCrew models.

A Sneak Preview of the upcoming 2010 Ford Taurus

Ford has revived the Taurus as more of a personal luxury sedan, the likes of which have not been seen wearing a Ford badge in many years. Ford has decided to combine elements of American and European design for the 2010 model. The new redesigned Taurus is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 Duratec engine, mated to one of two available six-speed automatic transmissions, including SelectShift with shift paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The all-wheel-drive mode is optional. The V6 motor powers out an estimated 263 horsepower and 249 foot-pounds of torque. The regular car is offered in SE and SEL trim levels. Ford also will launch the performance-oriented SHO EcoBoost model.

Like the 1986 original, the new 2010 Taurus differentiates by combining style and substance, but this time in an advanced fusion of design, technology, and performance. Taurus features a long list of high-tech features, including: Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, MyKey parental programmability, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, Rain-Sensing Wipers, EasyFuel capless refueling, Ford SYNC and Voice-Activated Navigation with SIRIUS Travel Link.

The 2010 Ford Mustang gets a new makeover with rejuvenated styling inside and out.

The rear-wheel-drive 2010 Ford Mustang comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission, and a five-speed automatic is optional. The Mustang V6 is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 210 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque, while the Mustang GT boasts a 4.6-liter V8 with 315 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque.

The 2010 Ford Mustang is available as a coupe or convertible in four trim levels: V6, V6 Premium, GT and GT Premium. The base V6 starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories and a CD audio system with an auxiliary audio jack. The V6 Premium adds upgraded 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery, a power driver seat, Sync, color-adjustable gauges, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded interior trim and a Shaker 500 stereo system with a six-CD changer. The V8-powered GT comes with the base V6's features plus 18-inch alloys, dual exhaust tips, a limited-slip rear differential, a rear spoiler and foglamps. The GT Premium is essentially a GT with different 18-inch wheels and the V6 Premium's roster of features.

Options on the base Mustang V6 include an exterior appearance package and an anti-theft system. The V6 Premium unlocks a slew of packages and options in addition to those available on the base model, including the Pony Package (consisting of various exterior styling enhancements), the Comfort Package (power passenger seat, heated front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror) and the Electronics Package (voice-activated navigation system with travel link, automatic climate control). Not to mention are the ice blue interior gauge lighting, options for sport-like leather seating, Ford's SYNC Technology, and other great interior amenities that are available as standard or optional features. Study shows Ford SYNC technology reduces Driving Distractions

A new study by Ford Motor Company shows that the Ford SYNC's hands-free system significantly reduces the level of distraction when drivers select a phone number or choose a song on their MP3 player compared with the same operations with hand-held cell phones and music players.

For example, the research shows a study of participants who spent an average of 25 seconds with their eyes-off-the-road to select a song with a handheld MP3 player compared with 2 seconds for those choosing a song using SYNC.

Ford recently completed a driving simulator study with 25 participants who are regular SYNC users to compare driver performance and eye glance behavior effects of tasks performed using SYNC's voice interface as compared to using nomadic devices with visual-manual interfaces. Researchers found that distraction potential for most tasks was significantly minimized when the SYNC voice interface was used as compared to the manual-entry required for handheld devices. For example, reading a text message on a handheld phone typically took the driver's eyes off the road for 11 seconds compared to about 2 seconds when listening to the text message with SYNC's text-to-speech output. Drivers also wandered over lane lines in more than 30 percent of trials using handheld phones and music players for song, artist, and phone book contact selection, as compared to zero percent when performing those same tasks with SYNC.

SYNC, which recently earned Popular Mechanics Editor's Choice Award for best new products at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show. SYNC's new "911 Assist" feature will help drivers connect with emergency assistance in the event of an air-bag deployment. Ford's next-generation SYNC with Traffic, Directions and Information features leverages industry-leading voice-recognition software, integrated GPS and Bluetooth-capable phones. Debuting this spring, it will provide simple hands-free access to personalized traffic reports, precise driving directions and up-to-date information including business listings, news, sports and weather.

The new services will be available on nearly all 2010 Ford models with no initial monthly subscription fees, thanks to three years of service included with a new vehicle purchase.

- The all-new 2009 Ford F-150 was just named 2009 North American Truck of the Year in Detroit.
