Contemporary styling with a retro flair

Ford’s Iconic Mustang epitomizes youth and inherits 40 years of ‘car heritage’. It was completely redesigned for the 2006 model year with an all-new chassis that was noticeably stronger and stiffer than its predecessor. After numerous cosmetic and chassis tweaks the 2006 Ford Mustang metamorphosed into a ‘sporty drop top’ that still exuded its youthful exuberance. In its first ever redesign the sixth-generation Mustang with its retro-design is reminiscent of the Classic Mustang styling of the late 60s.

The base Mustang is powered by a 210hp V6 while the GT packs in a throaty 300 hp backed up by a 4.6L V8. Its suspension allows for a supple ride, while handling is crisp. The exciting Pony package in the GT V6 models features a finely tuned suspension. A stylish and snazzy sports car, the Ford Mustang is one of the most affordable set of wheels in its segment. It has a powertrain warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles.

For 2007 the Mustang offers two new packages on the GT variant.  The GT Appearance Package offers a hood scoop, a Pony emblem engine cover, as well as bright rolled exhaust tips.

The California Special Package comes with a one-of-a-kind California Special Dove or Parchment ""GT Leather"" trimmed inserts and Black with Dove or Black with a Parchment interior color scheme. The front and rear floormats are stamped with the special Mustang badging. The exterior has side scoops and unique front and rear fascias. The front fascia has a larger air intake that is lower than the standard GT. The rear fascia is structured differently too.  Polished 18-inch aluminum wheels with Z-branded all-season tires are part of the package as well. A comfort package and SIRIUS satellite radio are optional.
Throaty and powerful V8

The Mustang is available as a coupe or a convertible with a choice of three engines. A 4.0L SOHC (single overhead camshaft) V6 engine that generates 210 hp and 240 lb.-ft. of torque provides a spirited acceleration. The GT derives muscle from a 4.6L -aluminum V8 and serves up 300 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Both versions have a rear-drive and a choice of either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission.

The Shelby GT500 dishes out 500 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual tranny. Fuel Economy for the V6 amounts to 19/28 mpg (city/highway) for the manual transmission and 18/26 mpg (city/highway) for the automatic transmission. The V8 renders 17/25 mpg (city/highway) for the manual transmission and 17/23 mpg (city/highway) for the automatic transmission.
